
Project Capacity building of organizations of DPOs to monitor implementation of Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (CRPD) Center for Independent Living Serbia is implementing in parthership of National Organisation of DPOs. Delegation of European Union in Serbia funded this project and a part of funding provided Ministry for Labor and Social Policy of Republic of Serbia. The Overall Objective of the project is to build the capacity of disabled people’s organizations for human rights monitoring and advocacy based on the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities – CRPD. Project activities will be directed to: - Increase the awareness and knowledge within DPOs on human rights guaranteed by the CRPD
- Build the capacity of DPOs to monitor relevant policies and practice in order to contribute to gathering evidence on progress and gaps in the implementation of the CRPD
- Create the basic capacity for participation in CRPD monitoring and preparation of the preliminary draft shadow report on the implementation of the CRPD
- Initiate ad hoc alliances with human rights organizations focusing on gender and child rights issues, to ensure that specific issues related to women and children with disabilities are taken into account
- Build capacity of DPOs for a focused advocacy action targeting both executive and legislative branches of the government, aiming to push for the establishment of the appropriate monitoring framework as stipulated in the Article 33 of the CRPD
- Increase reporting of the media on the CRPD and the specific role of DPOs in monitoring its implementation as described in the Article 35 of the CRPD
